I have a Bachelor degree in Psychology (BSc), A professional diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy & I'm a Life Coach.
I've began on my journey from unhealthy relationships many years ago. Some of my past experiences include being groomed, a relationship with a raging narcissist (I spent the best part of a year trying to leave & move on from that one). A serious relationship with someone emotionally unavailable (plus a couple more less serious emotionally unavailable ones!), a relationship with a covert narcissist (lots of silent treatments & confusion!) and quite a few more 'inappropriate' dating experiences!
These experiences made me feel like I was in relationship groundhog day, doomed to be in unhealthy or unfulfilling relationships forever, never destined to find true love! But because of my repeated dissatisfaction, I made overcoming and improving my relationships my mission.
I promised myself when I'd figured out how to have a healthy loving relationship - I'd share what I've learned with others. I've been at this for a long time, testing out what does and doesn't work! So it's wonderful to connect with & support others who also want to improve their lives and have healthy relationships by sharing my experience, knowledge & passion.

What's Possible? - My Relationship Story
This is me. I'm in a really unhealthy narcissistic relationship.
I've just gone back to them, for a second time.
I tell myself I can 'make it work.' But I'm living a lie.
I'm trying as hard as I can to be happily ever after with someone who makes me feel worse, not better. And the worse I feel, the more I try to feel better, through holding onto them.
I feel desperate, anxious & honestly, addicted. I don't listen to my instincts, I doubt myself. I'm scared to speak up. I feel like I'm walking on eggshells.
I'm not even sure who I am without this relationship - but it feels like I'm nobody within it.
This is also me. I am no longer in a crazy making narcissistic relationship.
But I feel unsatisfied. Because I am in an emotionally unavailable one.
Compared with my previous relationships, this relationship is fine.
But I want more.
More understanding. More compassion. More togetherness. More intimacy. More love. More attention.
I try so hard to be understood that I end up completely exhausted and frustrated.
There is a power imbalance. We don't share our vulnerabilities. I don't feel completely connected. I don't feel secure and supported to be myself. Affection isn't forthcoming and so I find myself wondering how they feel about me. We are not a team. We don't make big decisions together. I am not a priority.
I wonder, "Is this how relationships should be?"
I am not 100% satisfied, but I doubt myself. I tell myself the relationship 'isn't that bad,' I question whether I want too much?, I think maybe I would never meet anyone better anyway?, and I should just be grateful they are a nice person, and not a narcissist and just settle.
But I know inside that something is missing. And in the pit of my stomach, I am not comfortable with 'just settling'. Something tells me, this isn't what your closest most intimate relationship should be like.
This is also Me - in 2017 with my amazing Husband, on our wedding day.
I still feel loved, supported, safe & secure everyday, 5 years later.
Through my own inner work, I found a sense of calm & the confidence to be myself. I listen to my instincts, I speak up. I know exactly who I am. I feel worthy of true love. I found all this in myself, first, and then I found it, with him.
This is the relationship of my dreams, but I am not dreaming. This is reality. (Hence me fist pumping the air - celebrating how far I've come!)
I'm so glad that I figured out how to break free from unhealthy, emotionally unavailable and unsatisfying relationships because otherwise, none of this would have been possible.
My journey to finding healthy, genuine love was not an accident.
It happened because I decided that healthy love was what I wanted and then I went about my way figuring out how to get it.

Why is it free?
This is what I love to do! I love helping others improve their lives & their relationships - especially because I know how powerful it is!! I'm excited to share my "secrets" so you can improve your life too. It means the world to me to help others on their journey. I want to build a community of people that are feeling confident, safe, loved & appreciated - just for being themselves! (In a nutshell, I want to make the world a better place!). And when I help others for FREE, some might decide to learn more about my paid services. So I get to help (which, I love), you get to receive my help (which hopefully you'll love!), and if we work well together and you wan't more - then, and only then, we can discuss the options.
How will the session work?
You can join me on zoom using the link in your booking confirmation (the session is audio only). We'll briefly chat before diving into what's going on with you, what you want, what's holding you back. Then we'll hone in on what your top priority is. I will guide you into a relaxed state of hypnosis and we will move past it, together. The way I do it, hypnotherapy isn't something that's done to you, it's done with you, with your participation and interaction (which is one of the reasons it's way more powerful than passively listening to a recording). After the hypnosis, if I feel I have more to offer you, and you are interested in learning more, then we can chat more & I'll also answer any questions you have.
Will there be any pressure to buy?
Eugh no - absolutely not. I hate feeling sold to or pressured to buy and I will not pressure you.
This is a free session that you will benefit from attending - whether or not you choose to work with me any further. If I know I can really help you further, I'll let you know towards the end of the session. Whilst I have additional coaching & hypnotherapy services available, it’s completely up to you if you’d like to consider them. I'll ask if you want to know more & if it's a yes, we'll spend a few minutes at the end of the session where I can explain further coaching options that might interest you. The rest of the time will be focused on the steps you need for your breakthrough.
Will the session be recorded?
No. I don't record calls by default, but there is a recording option available on request if you'd like.
Will I be on camera?
No, you will not be on camera, your session will be via Zoom using the audio feature only.

What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state that people enter all the time, including when they are falling asleep, whilst driving, day dreaming, reading a book or engrossed in any meaningful activity to them. It's those times when you loose your connection to time - maybe it fly's by, or it stands still. If you've ever driven, or been driven somewhere and arrived at your destination, but you don't consciously remembered how you got there - you have experienced a form of hypnosis.
Why do you use hypnotherapy?
Because it works! It makes the process of desired change more effective, for me & for you! If you've ever tried to make a change in your life with just will power alone - you might have experienced how difficult it can be! That's why it's so beneficial to get the subconscious on board as well with hypnosis. Coaching and things like journalling definitely still reach the subconscious mind but the hypnotic state can bring about changes more efficiently by going straight to the root of a problem. Hypnotherapy also has added benefits like helping you to relax, feel calm, grounded & soothed in your mind & body - which we all need, especially after not so great relationship experiences.
How effective is hypnotherapy?
A number of research supports the high effectiveness of hypnosis in treating a large number of conditions. For example, in a survey of scientific literature comparing recovery rates for various modalities of therapy, it was reported that:
Psychoanalysis can be expected to have a 38% recovery rate after approximately 600 sessions.
Behaviour therapy (Wolpian) can be expected to have a 72% recovery rate after an average of 22 sessions.
Hypnotherapy can be expected to have a 93% recovery rate after an average of 6 sessions

Isn't hypnotherapy weird?
I don't think so, I think it's a fundamental part of psychology. But there are lot of misconceptions about hypnotherapy that perhaps gave it a weird reputation. This probably stems from how it's been used in public entertainment where stage hypnotists get people to do things like cluck like chickens! (Which is weird!) But that's only a very tiny percent of how hypnosis is used. Also, only a small percent of people (such as outgoing people who actually want to) would actually cluck like a chicken on a stage in a room full of people. And stage hypnotists are very skilled at picking them.
When the hypnotic state is used in a Hypno-therapeutic setting, (or even in self hypnosis) it is such a powerful tool we can all use to change our lives for the better, and that's not weird, it's wonderful! Also, if stage hypnotherapists can get people to cluck like chickens, imagine the power this tool has for other productive changes! Which is how I like to use it.
Should I be scared?
No, but it's okay if you are. Fear or apprehension can be a normal response when we do something new, but I try to make going into hypnosis as relaxing, enjoyable and calming as possible (which is exactly what's needed after a troublesome relationship). If you have any fears or reservations I'll make a point to address them & answer any of your questions before we get into it.
Is online hypnotherapy as effective as face to face hypnotherapy?
Yes, absolutely, online hypnotherapy is just as effective as face to face. Some people report even feeling more relaxed and comfortable having hypnotherapy from their own home, office (or even from their vehicle!).
Are you going to get me to do something I don't want?
No, never. You are in control of your life.
In the session, the way I use hypnotherapy depends on the person I'm with & their desired outcome, but often it might feel like a relaxing story time with pauses for your input - conversation's where you tell me what YOU are experiencing & I then work with you on what YOU want & need in order to move forward.
Are you going to heal me?
Yes and no. I am going to guide you to heal or 'develop' yourself.
What else can you tell me about what working with you?
I'm a gentle, permissive kind of therapist. I certainly will not force you to do anything, but don't mistake gentle for not being powerful. I'll work with you at your pace. I'll be a guide on your own journey to get where you want & what you want.
Where and why did you become a Hypnotherapist and a Life Coach?
I have a background in Psychology. I studied it for 5 years in the U.K & the U.S.A, and I was considering becoming a Psychologist. However, I didn't want to work in a clinical setting. I wanted to work with the general population.
I experienced hypnotherapy a few times and I always found it to be a fascinating experience. Then when I was struggling to move on from a relationship, I had hypnotherapy (online!) and I was blown away with the transformation. It really helped me leave the relationship in the past and reclaim my energy.
After that, I had a light bulb moment. This was what I was wanted to do. So I decided to become a hypnotherapist myself.
I started training few years after in 2013 at the London Institute of Clinical Hypnosis. Since my initial training, I've added further training in hypnotherapy & life coaching, including the rewind trauma technique. This field intrigues me so much & I always enjoy learning more through further study, courses, reading, and life experience.

Why should I trust you?
Trust is something that needs to develop over time. So I'm not going to write some spiel about why you should trust me, especially not straight away. If you've been in an unhealthy relationship, your trust has been broken already - and that can run deep.
This is something that needs to be repaired.
For now, there is only person that you need to trust, and that's you. So I'd invite you to check within (before making any kind of decision) and ask yourself "Is this a Yes?" or "Is this a No?" or "Do I need more information?" and go from there. I don't want to leave my relationship. Can you still help me?
Yes, absolutely. Not everyone wants or needs to leave their relationship to see improvements!
I don't ever want another relationship. Is it still worth me attending /working on myself?
Yes - it, and you, are always still worth working on yourself - even if (or especially if) you have been led to believe otherwise.
Many people swear off dating for good after a bad experience through fear, hurt or just a preference to experience time alone - the reason I share my story is to let people know that they can move past their past and have a healthy relationship in their future if that's what they wan't.
However, I understand the desire for another relationship isn't for everyone. If you don't want another relationship, perhaps you have other reasons for wanting to work on yourself. You're reasons and motivation to feel better are personal to you. It could be that you want to improve your relationships with family members, set a better example for your children, regain your confidence, take better care of yourself, or even launch a new career. I'm interested to know what you want & what your motivation to heal is that is completely unique to you.
In fact, simply feeling peaceful within yourself and the sense of confidence you get from this work is actually way more important than any relationship you may or may not have in the future anyway.

"I Feel At Home With Myself."
Since having hypnotherapy with Marie, I really feel the difference. I’m more cheerful and energetic and I feel at home with myself and in my decisions for myself.
I’m also more organised. I have a plan for my day, and I execute my plan, whereas before I was stuck in a fear response. I felt frozen and I couldn’t concentrate and get anything done.
